Old Friends (2009)
by Robert Otlowski
A hole in my heart where you used to smile
A place in my world where you walked for awhile
A spot in my arms where I used to fold you
A land in my dreams where I got to hold you
A part of my life I'll never replace
A hope for your love that can't be erased
An echo in places where you used to laugh
A full stock of beer that used to be half
A friend for the ages both passing and hence
A friendship now broken that doesn't make sense
A tear in my eye for the one who's not here
A smile for good times we had this past year
A wish that one day you might understand
My vision of old friends that's happy and grand
